Alternate Universe 2020 Exchange Letter
Jul. 3rd, 2020 09:45 am This is my letter for the Alternate Universe Exchange on AO3.
All the ideas are meant as prompts/general ideas I like but aren’t strict if you have other ideas for the AUs. All requests allow fanfic and fanart. Each fandom/request also has different rules on ships and what is/isn’t allowed for romance. DNWs are mostly consistent in applying to everything but there are some exceptions.
Goseiger
Alata and Eri, separate or as a pair
Magical College
College to learn about Gosei World/Tensou Technique stuff, or just general magic, spells, magic creatures, etc.
Go into as much detail as you want about what they’re studying and how the school works.
Shapeshifter
Being able to shift to animal forms
Being able to shrink/grow in height
Clothing changes with you (to accommodate height, body types, etc).
Learning how to control shapeshifting
Shapeshifting by accident when sneezing or something.
Request-AU-Specific DNW: Genderswapping
Platonic Soulmate
Platonic soulmates being rarer than romantic soulmates
Moving in/living together platonically.
Plenty of physical affection (kisses, snuggles, etc) but not romantically.
Summer Camp
Stereotypical summer camp stuff like:
Making crafts
Sneaking out
Archery and other activities
Playing with animals (baby chicks, horses, etc)
Combined AUs (combine the above ideas to make a new AU): Magical Shapeshifters, Shapeshifter Summer Camp
Romance
No romance, please. Platonic cuddles and kisses and affection are allowed, but not romantic ones.

Power Rangers SPD
Jack, Bridge, and Z individually, Jack and Z as a pair, Worldbuilding
Worldbuilding-SPD+Pokémon
The SPD organization and the use of Pokémon. Some ideas:
Police dogs, maybe in place of RIC.
Testing out/helping develop Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, etc.
Having a branch that deals with stray Pokémon like how the real world has animal control
Pokémon Trainer
Starting their journey together (picking starters, going to the first gym, etc). All having completely different goals (fighting the Pokémon League, Contests, Frontier) (obviously their goals would be different depending on what region you’re setting it in). Can interact with canon characters (professors, gym leaders) if relevant but not with canon Pokémon rivals, Team Rocket, etc. It’s not a crossover, just AU.
Shapeshifter
They already have civilian powers, shapeshifting is just like that, but more common. So they can all do the abilities they have (Jack phases through objects, Bridge reads auras, Z self-replicates) they can also shapeshift. (Z’s clones can also shapeshift if she can.)
Foster Kids
All three as foster kids with different family/parental reasons (as to why they’re in foster care).
Jack and Z living together in the same home but then being separated (angst!).
Bridge just being a weird foster kid. (He’s weird.)
Romance
Crushes and general romance allowed between Z and Jack, but keep it at T (maximum) and don’t make it the focus of the fic.
Romance is NOT allowed in Foster Kids AU. (I don’t care that they’re foster siblings/not related, it’s still not allowed.)
DNW: Smut/NSFW, Abuse (can be referenced as a thing in the past in Foster Kids but not happen during the story), Allergy/Sickness, Character Death
MMPR 1993
Main 6 as individuals and various combinations: All boys, All boys minus Billy, and All Girls
Boarding School
Like “everything is the same except they’re at a boarding school”. They can still be Rangers, still be in the 90s, still have the Juice Bar, but they’re students at a boarding school. Can focus on individuals or groups. Romance is allowed between Tommy/Kim but no smut. Keep it age-appropriate for teenager’s first relationship stuff.
Pokémon Trainer
Taking care of stray/abandoned Pokémon
Billy researching new Pokémon and discoveries
Battling each other (for fun or as rivals. Tommy and Jason are totally rivals.)
Can interact with canon characters (professors, gym leaders) if relevant but not with canon Pokémon rivals, Team Rocket, etc. It’s not a crossover, just AU.
Summer Camp
I actually imagine them being counselors/staff/volunteers at the camp? As teenagers or adults.
Tommy and Jason are definitely fit for helping at a martial arts camp. Kim and gymnastics, Billy and science, Zack at a dance camp. Trini kinda fits anywhere for me.
Or doing jobs like lifeguard, arts and crafts instructor, kitchen/dining hall staff, etc.

Romance
Romance between Tommy/Kim is allowed in the Boarding School and Pokémon AUs as long as it’s kept T or lower.

Lupinranger VS Patranger
Lupinrangers - Individually and a group of three
Bakery
Focus more on the making food part.
Characters shouldn’t be Lupinrangers, just normal people working in a normal bakery. The Lupinrangers can still exist but should be completely different unrelated people. Patrangers can stop by as customers, but shouldn’t be a focus.
Bakeries serve more cakes and stuff, so...cake! Cookies! Cupcakes! Brownies! Mmm…
Foster Kids
(It makes so much sense, doesn’t it?)
They all become foster kids for various reasons/at different ages.
Umika and Kairi not following rules and stuff set out by very patient/considerate foster parents.
Defending each other at school despite not being biological siblings.
Boarding School
Middle school or high school. Moving in/first day of school stuff.
They could be Lupinrangers, but taking into account secret identities (and the fact that they are now younger) chances are lower.
Eating in the dining hall together
Working on something like the school news or a club together.
Romance
None, please.

Kiramager
Main 5 + Muryou as individuals, Boys as a group and Juuru Tametomo and Sena as a group (No Takamichi because he just showed up and idk about him yet)
Foster Kids
Not...all of them. Like not all at the same time.
Juuru being in foster care and switching homes or schools or his current home getting a new kid and he’s just really stressed out and everyone asking what’s up. (Or if they’re not Kiramagers/Juuru hasn’t joined yet, he finds interviews online of them talking and being inspiring.)
Shiguru being a foster kid and being a theatre kid at school and really wanting/not wanting certain parents/relatives to see his performances.
Tametomo being a foster kid and learning to be good at video games (especially handhelds) so he can impress people and be cool and make friends.
Magical College
Juuru’s sketchbook...magic college...hmm...
Modern fantasy stuff like:
Sayo learning to be a vet/doctor for magical creatures (dragons, pixies/fairies, shapeshifters?).
Enchanting items.
Tametomo not being allowed to use magic off of school property/around non-magics but guess what he does it anyway.
Magical pets being allowed at magical college. Cats bump item and it goes into another dimension never to be seen again. (Like important items but also like socks.)
Boarding School
Sayo being a nurse/staff at a boarding school.
Sena, Tametomo, and Juuru all get detention for completely unrelated reasons and then end up being friends.
Muryou as a teacher/staff member at the boarding school.
Tametomo organizing/participating in school-wide gaming events on the weekend.
Juuru, Shiguru, and Tametomo all being roommates (or living in the same hallway/living area).
Sena being a student but helping younger grades’ gym class in her spare time.
High School
Juuru should be younger (14-15 while the others are 17).
Tametomo being the cool kid. Shiguru or Sena (depends which group you go with) offer to let Juuru sit with them (person and Tametomo) at lunch.
Juuru being the awkward new kid in general
Pokémon Trainer
Anyone using Pokémon in their jobs or daily lives somehow (Sayo and Chansey, Juuru and Smeargle, etc).
Muryou being the professor would be GREAT.
Juuru straight-up being Tracey Sketchit.
Tametomo being a very competitive battler.
Sena having a Ninjask (second-fastest Pokémon. Fastest is Deoxys and that’s not fair.)
Summer Camp
Sena could be a really good summer camp leader/counsellor at a sports/athletic camp.
Shiguru and Tametomo and Juuru all being in the same cabin and as soon as they all meet they’re like “thanks I hate it”.
Juuru drawing pictures of people at camp. Just anyone in general because he wants to give them a picture.
Combined AUs (combine the above ideas to make a new AU): Boarding School+High School, Pokémon Trainer Summer Camp, Pokémon Trainer Boarding School
Romance
Crushes are okay. Dating between Tametomo and Sena is okay as long as it’s not the main focus. Romance is NOT allowed in Foster Kids AU. (I don’t care that they’re foster siblings/not related, it’s still not allowed.)
