27twinsister: The logo of Kamen Rider LOQ from Ride Kamens. The [viewer's] left half is green and the [viewer's] right half is purple. The left side has the genderqueer flag behind it and the right side has the aromantic flag behind it. (ride kamens)
These names are the unit/pairing names for the song 君がいるから (Kimi ga iru kara - translates to Because I have you). Different pairs performed depending on the show, but three pairs repeated (with different unit names each time):
  • Mikami Saigo & Araki Kyosuke (January 13 at 1 PM and January 30 at 6:30 PM)
  • Fukami Shion and Gamo Jigen (January 18 at 6 PM and February 1 at 1 PM)
  • Agata Matsunosuke and Takato Uryu (January 19 at 1 PM and January 31 at 2 PM)
Thank you to alumi_hal for compiling all the unit names in Japanese! (@alumi_hal どうもありがとうございます!) I used google translate to translate the text and then asked ysterrd for help on names and explanations that didn’t make sense when put through google translate. I (27twinsister) didn’t come up with these names, the Ride Kamens: The Stage characters/cast did, and ysterrd gave his own interpretation/localizations for a few.

This is a summary of the second half of the show, the dancing and singing portion. This portion is still in character, besides the bows and stuff at the end, but interacts with the audience a lot more. If you want to read about the main stage show/plot, you can read about it here.

There is a 20-minute intermission between the stage show and Premium Stage. This is a lot of time if you're an audience member (it goes by slowly) and probably never enough if you're a cast/staff member (it goes by quickly). The live show performance is different depending on the exact performance, though the order of songs is always the same. Kuon Shunto is not present in this portion of the show, though he is in the bows at the end.

Leon comes out and introduces himself as the MC for the Premium Stage. He teaches the audience four call and response chants ("Kamen!" "Rider!" "Justice!" "Ride!" "Mad!" "Guy!" "Takato!" "Uryu!" Actually he doesn't explicitly teach the last one, at least at the shows I saw he just says "Takato!" And the audience automatically responds "Uryu!")

After practicing the calls and responses, all the characters (minus Leon and Shunto) perform the first song, GET BACK!! The STAGE Vers (Version). The characters have microphones during this song but they’re just props- they still have the mics on their face from the main stage show, because the handheld mics aren’t used for any other songs.

Everyone (except Leon, who's in his regular clothes) is wearing dance clothes, generally consisting of shorts with leggings underneath or long pants and plain shirts with jackets over top. Main characters are wearing outfits with the colour they are associated with (for example, Haruma's outfit is black with red highlights) but backup dancers wear just black and white. There are no backup dancers for the first song, they have enough people constantly moving around already.

Next is Justice Ride’s song, Ride or Die!. MadGuy and Uryu exit the stage (and take the prop mics with them). They have four backup dancers. During most songs (but not the first song, or I didn't notice them because they weren't in frame long enough), the lyrics appear on the screen behind everyone. Due to the camera constantly changing angles (and also the fact that I can't read Japanese very well, but that's just me) these lyrics are not super helpful to people watching via streaming.

Next is MadGuy’s song, MADGUY PRIDE. It starts as soon as Justice Ride leaves. They are joined by four backup dancers. Kamui Narushi and Araki Kyosuke don't argue during this song (which is like 4 minutes long). Good for them, lol.

After that, Leon waits for all the main characters to get back onstage before announcing the show’s shuffle unit. The shuffle unit is the pair that will perform the third song, 君がいるから (Kimi ga iru kara - translates to Because I have you). They announced the pairs on social media in advance (so if you could go in person and wanted to see a specific pair presumably you could buy a ticket after the announcement.) The pairs at the shows I saw were Haruma & Shion on January 25 at 1 PM and Haruma & Matsunosuke on February 2 at 12 noon. You can read what each of the units were here.

There are two moments I want to highlight here that happened on different performances. On the January 25 show that I saw, Leon was announcing the unit (Haruma & Shion) and accidentally called Shion by Shion (instead of Fukami) and apologized immediately. Shion was fine with it because of course he was. And on the February 2 performance, before announcing the pair for the unit, Shion got the audience to do the call and responses, with "Takato!" "Uryu!" being last. Uryu was pleasantly surprised, probably not expecting it because he's not a Rider.

After announcing the pair (accompanied by an image), Leon asks both characters to stand center stage and asks them to come up with a unit name that represents them both. These names can be thought of quickly (Haruma came up with "Leaders" for himself and Agata very quickly and nobody argued) or take a moment (Haruma & Shion were struggling to think of something, then Saigo said that Haruma’s omurice is tasty, which led to their unit name being "Kitchen Boys"). Agata takes off his jacket before his performance, though his shirt is long-sleeved. Only the unit is onstage for this song.

Next is Leon's song, Perfect Assistant. I think they placed it here so that no matter who was in the shuffle unit they would have time to prepare for the final song. Before the dance starts, he teaches the Agent a call and response that applies to only this song. The phrase is 「スーパー執事!」(Su-pa shi-su-ji! Meaning "Super Butler!") Once the audience knows the call and response, the song starts, and Leon has four backup dancers join him.

Everyone changes back into their regular clothes for the final song, With My Reason. It kind of seems this song being performed was a surprise to Leon, because he was ready to wrap up. Jigen also seems embarrassed/unwilling to perform this song but does so because his teammates want him to (Shion tells him to do it.) The final song is sung by all of the main cast (minus Kuon Shunto) and has a moment that depends on the show you're seeing- for instance at the January 25 show I saw, Narushi blows a kiss to the audience (and Kyosuke gags/rolls his eyes in the background.) On February 2, Saigo says 「エージェント、いつも本当ありがとう」 "Agent, itsumo honto arigato" (Agent, thank you so much for everything).

The very final bows are done by everyone. First are the ensemble/background performers, followed by Kuon, Uryu, and Leon, followed by MadGuy, followed by Shion, Haruma, and Jigen, followed by Saigo alone, and ends with everyone bowing together. (In stage performances, bows typically have the ensemble/background performers first, and end with the main/lead character.)

Everyone leaves the stage but return a moment later, still in costume but not in character. They bow again and Kizu Tsubasa (Mikami Saigo) appoints someone else to talk to the audience. On the January 25 show I saw it was Hirose Tomoki (Aijo Leon) and on the February 2 I saw it was Kawakami Shouta (Araki Kyosuke). After that, everyone thanks the audience and bows, and then the show is over. There is also about 5 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage for each streamed performance. On the January 25 show I saw it was mostly rehearsal footage, like practicing lines and blocking, and on the February 2 show I saw it was a roundtable type of video of some of the actors addressing the viewers and thanking them for their support.

And then the show is over. The stream fades to a screen thanking you for watching, and it streams for a few more minutes but there are no new visuals or audio.

This is a summary of the stage show and live show of Ride Kamens: The Stage, performed in Tokyo from January 11-January 25 and Osaka from January 30-February 2, 2025. I don’t speak Japanese but I did watch a performance (two, actually! January 25 at 1 PM and February 2 at 12 noon) and rewatched them a few times via the archived streams. I wrote this before the Osaka February 2 stream archives became inaccessible on February 16.

The show is approximately 3 hours long- 2 hours for the main story/play and 40 minutes for the live show, with an intermission in between. The entire thing is in-character (of course for the first part, that’s just how plays work, but they’re still in-character for the live show performance.) minus the bows and stuff at the very end. If you want to read about the premium stage, you can read about it here.

The characters in the show are Justice Ride (Mikami Saigo, Iori Haruma, Fukami Shion, Gamo Jigen), MadGuy (Araki Kyosuke, Agata Matsunosuke, Kamui Narushi), Takato Uryu (note: Uryu is not a Kamen Rider in this show), Aijo Leon, Kuon Shunto (character exclusive to the stage show, has not been in the game), a few background characters (other students at the academy, members of Chaosism,) and the Agent. The audience collectively is the Agent, so there’s effectively no fourth wall- they don’t acknowledge the Agent super often but they establish that you are the Agent at the start of the show.

The plot of the main show is below. Obviously contains spoilers.Read more... )
